5Exactly what I was looking for
    By Giton
And what was I looking for, you ask? In short, I wanted a watch that had a classy look to it, a brown leather strap, and at the very least something that displayed the date (as well as the time, of course). The price range was just right: not so much that I felt like I was wronging poverty-stricken children somewhere but enough that I felt like I was getting something sturdy that would last. Overall, I have been very impressed with this product over the five or so months that I've had it and used it daily.Incidentally, almost immediately after purchasing this Pulsar product, I came across this other watch: Nautica Men's N09550G Windseeker Multi-Function Watch. Its features and appearance are very similar to the Pulsar's, though its narrower bezel gives it a more compact look (though the face itself is about the same size). Still, I'm not unhappy with my purchase in any way.FormI hadn't worn a watch for years but wanted something that looked professional but that I could also wear casually. I'm not into the huge faces that protrude a full inch from my wrist, so this was a nice size--masculine without being ridiculous. I love the subdued-but-lustrous brown color of the face; it is nicely complemented by the silver accents of the stainless steel bezel and other watch components. (The product image reflects the brown color accurately, although its sheen obviously varies according to lighting and time of day.)The strap is soft and comfortable, in my opinion. It's made of genuine leather that has been stamped with a snakeskin-style pattern. For me, it fits the image of professional/casual crossover that I was going for. The pair of bands around the strap (as can be seen in the second image) are a slight downside, in my experience. The one closer to the metal clasp is fixed in place, but the other slides freely, to accommodate various wrist sizes. I find myself fiddling with it frequently to keep it in place; perhaps regular watch-wearers will be used to this mild annoyance.FunctionFirst, the timepiece itself. I didn't study it scientifically or anything, but in a few random checks across at least a few weeks' time, the watch kept very good time, to within a few seconds. Good enough by far for me, especially given what I had heard about the unreliability of some automatic/kinetic watches like this one.My wife and others have been confused about why the second hand doesn't move. What they were looking at was in fact the second hand of the stopwatch, which of course doesn't move unless activated. The normal second hand is relegated to the left-side chronograph display. Works great for me: it's smaller, but I don't use it continuously anyway, so it's there out of the way for when I need it.While we're on the stopwatch feature, I have to admit that I did not immediately understand the purpose of the bottom dial. In part, I blame the fact that on my particular watch, its hands are at the 1:10 position, rather than the 12:00 position, which is what is shown in the main image here on Amazon. I don't know if that's a glitch or a "feature"; either way, I've never quite understood it. Anyway, it's the dial that shows the progress of the stopwatch, at the minute and hour levels, moving only when the stopwatch second hand reaches the 12 position.I have found the hour-and-minute stopwatch function to be surprisingly useful. Even though I have to think a bit harder than if it started at 12:00, I can just set it and forget it and always be able to tell how long I've been doing something. (In contrast with the usual, "When did I start working on this?") As a freelancer, I'm especially grateful for it: I can work on a project for 10 minutes or an hour, and then just turn off the stopwatch while I get up for a walk or lunch or whatever, and then I can hit the button again to start my timer from where I left off. (The top button starts and stops the stopwatch, and the bottom button resets each of the stopwatch dials to its "home" position.)The top dial actually marks 1/20th of a second, a considerably higher subdivision than the 1/5th of a second listed on this website. It clicks into place at each interval when the stopwatch is first activated. But once 10 or 15 minutes have passed (I don't know the exact amount of time), the "fraction" hand stays at the 0 (i.e., 12:00) position until you press the button to stop the stopwatch, at which point it jumps to its actual position. It's a pretty nice battery-saving feature.Another battery saver is the lack of a backlight. Again, when I last wore a watch, "Indiglo" was all the rage, so perhaps some are used to having light at the push of a button. (Then again, this was before cell phones were ubiquitous, too, so that will solve the potential problem for some.) In my case, the glow-in-the-dark paint on the minute and hour hands and on each hour except 12 and 6 is just right to get the time in the dark, and I can't imagine having an urgent need to see the date or use the stopwatch in the dark. (The second-hand dial and the date push the lit hour-notches outward a tiny bit at the 4 and 9 positions. It's nigh unnoticeable, but any symmetry freaks might want to beware.)Unlike another reviewer, I have had no problems with the watch's dial. I've never understood how a watch could be "water resistant" (i.e., not really waterproof) to any depth at all. I keep mine watch away from open water and don't plan to submerge it, ever. Still, the dial given me no problems when I've worn the watch to wash dishes or wash my face or things like that where there's incidental contact.Overall, it's everything I hoped for and a great value. (I'd be happy to answer any specific questions via the comments, too.)

    5nice looking watch
    By Big Ron
This is a very nice watch, especially for the price. I am an avid collector of watches and must admit that I was very pleasantly suprised when I received this timepiece. The watch is masculine, without being bulky (I'm a rather big fella). Very stylish face and the leather strap is worth the cost of the timepiece. Not a bad addition to wear to the golf course or with business attire.

    4I like it
    By Ahyour
Cheap but looks classy. This is a good buy and feels great. All features work well. But I am yet to confirm how good the water resistant feature is. No reason to dip in water yet.
